JJ Effect
In the summer term of 2023, we welcomed Byron Highton to school, an incredible and inspirational young man. During his talk, Bryon shared the heartbreaking story of how he tragically lost his own young brother to knife crime. This devastating experience motivated him to take action and create the JJ Effect, an organisation dedicated to preventing Youth Violence.
Byron's personal journey and the work of the JJ Effect resonated deeply with our pupils. Their eyes were opened to the harsh realities young people face and the ways they can be drawn into dangerous situations.
Byron's message aimed to empower our students to make positive choices and stay safe. The impact of this talk cannot be overstated. It served as an important reminder of the importance of community, compassion and open communication.
The talk was listened to by our Year 5 and 6 pupils and their parents. In addition, we had a group of children from our local feeder high school attend too.
