 LEARNING ZONE!


English-In our Talk for Writing unit this half-term we are looking at the wishing tale The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch. We have read and rehearsed the story by heart and then created our own wishing tale.


Maths- In maths we are learning all about multiplication. We have learnt how to count in 2s, 5s and 10s, how to share and group equally and how to make arrays. 


Science - In Science we are learning all about plants. How to identify and classify them, what evergreen and deciduous trees mean and where we might see them within our school grounds. 


History - We are learning all about the Great Fire of London. When and why it started, the chronology of the event and what effect the fire had. 

 


RE- In RE we are learning about a  holy day and the story of the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Being sorry and who we can show this, the world faith Islam and how to be a good neighbour. 


PSHE- Within PSHE we will explore how human beings are relational by nature and are called to love others in the wider community through service, through dialogue and through working for the Common Good. 

 


ART - we are learning about artwork depicting streets and buildings and focusing on the work of the American pop artist, James Rizzi. We will create a 3-D mural based on Rizzi's work.


PE- We are learning about tennis and how skills such as hand eye coordination and balancing are really important. 


Gymnastics - we are learning about spiders and scorpion movements and various balances and jumps. 


Computing - We will be learning how labelling, grouping and searching are important aspects of data and information. We will focus on assigning data (images) with different labels in order to demonstrate how computers are able to group and present data. 


Music - Singing and listening are at the heart of each lesson this term.  As well as improvisation and composing using a selection of these notes: C, D, E, F, F♯, G, A.
