3D Printing

3D printing club was a huge success, as well as 3D modelling projects run throughout the curriculum, we offer the opportunity for students to get creative and 3D model and print their own work.  In the Autumn term, we looked at creating 3D Christmas tree cookie cutters.  We have worked alongside our partners at Create Education and BAE systems who have provided training and the loan of a 3D printer.  Along with the loan of the 3D printer, we have used our own 3D printer to create these fantastic working 3D models.

We used Tinkercad software to 3D model the Christmas trees.

Then the students sliced the 3D designs in Ultimaker cura software so that they were ready to be sent to one of the 3D printers.

This is a video of our 3D printing in action.
